All Courtesy Lights Inoperative
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Remove dome light lens. Remove and inspect dome light bulb. Replace bulb if necessary. Open any door. Using a voltmeter, check voltage on dome light connector fused B+ circuit. If voltage is more than 10 volts, reinstall dome light bulb and go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open wire.
- Disconnect 26-pin instrument cluster connector, located behind left upper instrument panel. Connect a jumper wire between instrument cluster connector terminal No. 3, courtesy light control circuit and ground. See Figure . If dome light does not illuminate, go to next step. If dome light illuminates, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS article.
- Remove dome light lens. Remove dome light bulb. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between dome light connector courtesy light control circuit and ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, problem does not exist at this time.
