RKE Transmitter Inoperative
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Ensure Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module is configured and is in customer mode. Using a voltmeter, check voltage across both RKE transmitter batteries. If voltage is 3 volts or more on both batteries, go to next step. If voltage is less than 3 volts on either battery, replace batteries as needed. Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located on bottom of instrument panel, to left of brake pedal. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select BODY, THEFT ALARM, MISC and RKE fob and module test. Follow scan tool instructions. Using RKE transmitter, lock and unlock doors. If locks do not operate properly, go to next step. If locks operate properly, reprogram original transmitter. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY TRANSMITTER under PROGRAMMING. Program all transmitters to be used on this vehicle.
- Substitute a known-good RKE transmitter programmed to vehicle. Using scan tool, select BODY, THEFT ALARM, MISC and RKE fob and module test. Follow scan tool instructions. Using RKE transmitter, lock and unlock doors. If locks do not operate properly, go to next step. If locks operate properly, replace transmitter. Program all transmitters to be used on this vehicle. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY TRANSMITTER under PROGRAMMING.
- Replace RKE module. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
