DTC P1687: No Cluster Bus Message: Testing

  1. Turn the ignition on. With the DRBIII(R), erase DTCs. Cycle the ignition key on and off several times. With the DRBIII(R), read DTCs. Does DTC P1687 reset? If yes, go to next step. If no, test is complete.
  2. Turn the ignition on. With the DRBIII(R), attempt to communicate with the MIC. Can communication be established with the MIC? If yes, test is complete. If no, perform the appropriate symptom-related test. See appropriate ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
