VTSS Indicator Fails To Flash

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Ensure system is enabled before continuing. Turn ignition off. Disconnect 26-pin Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module connector, located under center of instrument panel top cover. See Figure . Connect a jumper wire between RKE module connector terminal No. 17, Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) indicator driver circuit and ground. See Figure . If VTSS indicator does not illuminate, go to next step. If VTSS indicator illuminates, replace RKE module. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Disconnect 26-pin instrument cluster connector, located behind left upper instrument panel. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance of VTSS indicator circuit between RKE module connector terminal No. 17 and instrument cluster connector terminal No. 5. See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, perform ANY PCI BUS INDICATOR INOPERATIVE  under INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open wire.
