Side Impact Airbag Control Module (SIACM)

On vehicles equipped with side air bags, each SIACM, located at the base of each "B" pillar performs self-diagnostics and circuit tests to monitor system function. SIACM reports to ACM once every second. If any fault exists, SIACM will request ACM to turn air bag indicator light on. ACM will send a message via PCI bus circuit to the Electro-Mechanical Instrument Cluster (EMIC) to turn air bag indicator light on.
