Fuel Level Sensor Stuck

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
CAUTION: Do not clear this DTC until repairs are complete. Clearing the code will cause the cluster to reset the mileage at which it begins to monitor fuel level sensor change over miles.

Perform the instrument cluster self test. Turn the ignition off. Press and hold the trip reset button. Turn the ignition on. Observe the fuel gauge during the self test. The fuel gauge should position the indicator needle at the indicated calibration points. See FUEL GAUGE CALIBRATION POINTS  table. If the fuel gauge operated correctly during the self test, replace the fuel level sensor. See FUEL LEVEL SENSOR under FUEL SYSTEMS in appropriate REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. With the DRBIII, erase DTCs. If the fuel gauge did not operate correctly during the self test, replace the instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in appropriate ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS article. With the DRBIII®, erase DTCs.
