High Beam Indicator Inoperative
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the instrument cluster C2 harness connector. See Figure. Turn on the headlamps and actuate the high beams. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the high beam indicator circuit. If the test light illuminates brightly, go to the next step. If the test light does not illuminate brightly, repair the high beam indicator circuit for an open.
- Turn the ignition off. Remove the instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in appropriate ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS article. Remove and inspect the high beam indicator bulb. If the bulb is open, replace the high beam indicator bulb. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER BULBS & LED under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in appropriate ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS article. If the bulb is not open, replace the instrument cluster.
NOTE:
Ensure that the high beam headlamps operate properly before proceeding with this test.
