PRND Or Autostick Display Inoperative Or Inaccurate

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn the ignition on. With the DRBIII, read DTCs. If the DRBIII displays any MIC, PCM, or TCM DTCs refer to the symptom identification for related DTCs. See SYMPTOM INDEX  table in SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If the DRBIII® did not display any MIC, PCM, or TCM DTCs go to the next step.
  2. Perform the instrument cluster self test. Turn the ignition off. Press and hold the trip reset button. Turn the ignition on. Observe the PRND/AutoStick VF display during the self test. If any part of the VF display failed to illuminate, replace the instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in appropriate ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS article. If the VF display did not fail to illuminate, the test is complete.
