VTSS Indicator Fails To Flash

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. The VTSS must be enabled for the indicator lamp to operate. To help ensure an accurate diagnosis, verify the system is enabled before proceeding. Disconnect the remote keyless entry module connector. See Figure. Connect a jumper wire between the VTSS indicator driver circuit and ground. If the VTSS indicator illuminated, replace the remote keyless entry module. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION, then see BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If the VTSS indicator does not illuminate, go to the next step.
  2. Disconnect the remote keyless entry module connector. Disconnect the instrument cluster connector. See Figure. Measure the resistance of the VTSS indicator driver circuit between the RKE module connector and the instrument cluster connector. If the resistance is below 5 ohms, go to the next step. If the resistance is above 5 ohms, repair the VTSS indicator driver circuit for an open.
  3. Remove the VTSS indicator LED from the instrument cluster. Test the VTSS indicator LED for functionality. If the VTSS indicator LED illuminated, replace the instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in appropriate ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS article. If the VTSS indicator LED did not illuminate, replace the VTSS LED.
