Idle Speed

Manufacturer does not list procedure for checking idle speed. Idle speed is controlled by PCM. No adjustment is required. PCM controls Idle Air Control (IAC) motor for proper idle speed. Individual IAC motor component testing is not available from manufacturer. If Idle Air Control (IAC) motor or wiring circuit failure exists, a DTC may be stored in the powertrain control module. Perform appropriate IAC motor diagnostic test. See DTC P0505: IDLE AIR CONTROL MOTOR CIRCUITS in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - PT CRUISER article.
