Cooldown Test Failed

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
CAUTION: The work area ambient temperature must be above 60°F (15.6°C) to test A/C system operation.
  1. If there are any other fault messages displayed with the Cooldown Test Failed message, return to the symptom list and choose the symptom(s). See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. After the repair is complete, rerun the Cooldown Test. See AUTOMATIC A/C-HEATER SYSTEMS article in HVAC. If there are not any other fault messages displayed with the Cooldown Test Failed message, go to the next step.
  2. Turn the ignition on. With the DRBIII®, read ATC DTCs. If the DRBIII® displays any ATC DTCs, return to the symptom list and choose the symptom(s). See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. After the repair is complete, rerun the Cooldown Test. See appropriate AUTOMATIC A/C-HEATER SYSTEMS article in HVAC. If the DRBIII® does not display any ATC DTCs, go to the next step.
  3. Turn the ignition on. With the DRBIII®, check the PCM/ECM for DTCs. If there are any PCM/ECM DTCs present, refer to Powertrain Diagnostic information for the related symptom(s). See DIAGNOSTIC TESTS in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. After the repair is complete, rerun the Cooldown Test. See appropriate AUTOMATIC A/C-HEATER SYSTEMS article in HVAC. If there are not any PCM/ECM DTCs present, refer to the AUTOMATIC A/C-HEATER SYSTEMS article for additional Cooldown Test related diagnostic information and testing procedures. After the repair is complete, rerun the Cooldown Test. See appropriate AUTOMATIC A/C-HEATER SYSTEMS article in HVAC.
