Left Front Turn Signal Output Open

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn the ignition on. With the DRBIII®, clear all BCM DTC's. Actuate the Turn Signals. With the DRBIII®, read the DTC information. If the DRBIII® reads: Left Front Turn Signal Output Open, go to the next step. If the DRBIII® does not read: Left Front Turn Signal Output Open, the condition that caused the symptom is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring for a possible intermittent condition. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
  2. Turn the ignition off Disconnect the Left Front Turn Signal harness connector. See Fig 1. Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check the ground circuit. If the test light illuminates brightly, go to the next step. If the test light does not illuminate brightly, repair the ground circuit.
  3. Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Left Front Turn Signal Lamp connector. Turn the ignition on. Turn the Left Turn Signal on. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the Left Front Turn Signal Output circuit. If the test light illuminates brightly, replace the turn signal lamp. If the test light does not illuminate brightly, go to the next step.
  4. Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the BCM C2 harness connector. See Figure. Disconnect the left front turn signal lamp harness connector. See Fig 1. Measure the resistance of the Left Front Turn Signal Output Circuit and ground. If the resistance is above 5 ohms, repair the Left Front Turn Signal Output Circuit for an open condition. If the resistance is below 5 ohms, replace the Body Control Module. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
