CPA Not Engaged

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, erase Front Control Module (FCM) DTCs. Turn ignition off. Wait 10 seconds. Turn ignition on. Recheck for DTCs. If CPA NOT ENGAGED resets, go to next step. If CPA NOT ENGAGED does not reset, conditions necessary to set this DTC are not present at this time. Check for intermittent poor connections or faulty circuits and repair as necessary.
  2. Turn ignition off. Locate and remove FCM from Intelligent Power Module (IPM). See FRONT CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and FCM connector terminals No. 1, 2, 9 and 38. See Figure. If voltage is 10 volts or less at any terminals, go to next step. If voltage is greater than 10 volts at all terminals, replace FCM.
  3. Inspect IPM connector C5 and ensure Connector Position Assurance (CPA) lock is engaged. See Figure. After verifying condition of IPM connector C5, measure voltage between ground and FCM connector terminals No. 1, 2, 9 and 38. If voltage is 10 volts or less at any terminals, replace IPM. If voltage is greater than 10 volts at all terminals, recheck that CPA is connected properly.
