Dome Lamp Output Short

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn the ignition on. With the DRBIII®, clear all BCM DTC's. Turn the Dome Lamps on. With the DRBIII®, read the DTC information. If the DRBIII® reads: Dome Lamp Output Short, go to the next step. If the DRBIII® does not read: Dome Lamp Output Short, the condition that caused the symptom is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring for a possible intermittent condition. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
  2. Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the dome/rail lamp assembly switch. Measure the resistance of the dome lamp circuit in the assembly switch. If the resistance is below 5 ohms, replace the dome/rail lamp assembly switch. If the resistance is above 5 ohms, go to the next step.
  3. Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 harness connector. See Figure. Measure the resistance of the Dome Circuit in the C2 connector. If the resistance is below 5 ohms, replace the Body Control Module. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If the resistance is above 5 ohms, repair the dome circuit for a short condition.
