Cooldown Test Set Up Fault
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, read all DTCs present. If scan tool displays any additional DTCs, go to appropriate test procedure for DTC present. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION table. After repair is complete, use scan tool to erase DTC(s). Cycle ignition switch off, then on again. Using scan tool, perform A/C cool down test. See A/C COOL DOWN TEST under SYSTEM TESTS in MANUAL A/C-HEATER SYSTEMS article in HVAC.
- If front blower speed selector was set to high speed position when cool down test was actuated, check front blower motor and related circuits for possible fault in front blower motor circuits. Repair front blower motor or circuits as necessary. After repairs is complete, use scan tool to perform A/C cool down test. See A/C COOL DOWN TEST under SYSTEM TESTS in MANUAL A/C-HEATER SYSTEMS article in HVAC. If front blower speed selector was not in high speed position, go to next step.
- Start engine, and bring to normal operating temperature. Set front blower speed selector to highest speed setting. Using scan tool, perform A/C cool down test. See A/C COOL DOWN TEST under SYSTEM TESTS in MANUAL A/C-HEATER SYSTEMS article in HVAC.
