No PCM Message Received (Active)
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, enter HVAC, then SYSTEM TESTS, then PCM MONITOR. If scan tool displays PCM ACTIVE ON BUS, replace HVAC control module. If scan tool does not display PCM ACTIVE ON BUS, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, attempt to communicate with Powertrain Control Module (PCM). If communications are established with PCM, go to next step. If communications cannot be established with PCM, diagnose concern with module communications network. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION table.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect PCM C2 connector. Connect Diagnostic Junction Port Tester (8339) to diagnostic junction port. DO NOT connect tester to scan tool. Measure resistance of PCI BUS circuit between diagnostic junction port test and PCM C2 connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace and reprogram NEW PCM. See POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair PCI BUS circuit for an open condition as necessary.
