TX Failure (Active)
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, attempt to communicate with HVAC control module. If scan tool is able to ID or communicate with HVAC control module, go to next step. If no communications can be established with HVAC control module, diagnose and repair concerns with module communication network.
- Using scan tool, read DTCs. If scan tool displays any additional DTCs, return to DTC/fault code list for DTC present. Go to appropriate procedures for additional DTCs present. If no additional DTC is present, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, attempt to communicate with Powertrain Control Module (PCM), Body Control Module (BCM), and Front Control Module (FCM). If scan tool is able to ID or communicate with PCM, BCM, and FCM, go to next step. If scan tool cannot communicate with either PCM, BCM, or FCM, diagnose and repair concern with module communication network.
- Using scan tool, erase DTCs. Cycle ignition switch off, then on again. Wait one minute. Using scan tool, check if DTC reset. If DTC reset, replace HVAC control module. If DTC did not reset, check for possible intermittent fault. Test is complete.
