Horizontal Forward Position Stuck

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform MEMORY SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Using scan tool, erase DTCs from Memory Seat/Mirror Module (MSMM). Operate driver's power seat and memory functions. Turn ignition off. Start engine and let idle for approximately one minute. Recheck for DTCs in MSMM. If HORIZONTAL FORWARD POSITION STUCK resets, go to next step. If HORIZONTAL FORWARD POSITION STUCK does not reset, conditions necessary to set this DTC are not present at this time. Check for intermittent poor connections or faulty circuits and repair as necessary. See MEMORY SYSTEMS in appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in ELECTRICAL.
  2. Disconnect power seat switch connector. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and power seat switch connector terminal No. 6 (Light Green/White wire). See Figure. If any voltage is present, go to next step. If no voltage is present, replace power seat switch.
  3. Turn ignition off. Locate and disconnect MSMM connectors. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and power seat switch connector terminal No. 6 (Light Green/White wire). If no voltage is present, replace MSMM. See MEMORY SEAT/MIRROR MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If any voltage is present, repair short to voltage in Light Green/White wire.
