Left Mirror Horizontal Sensor Out Of Range Low

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform MEMORY SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Using scan tool, erase DTCs from Memory Seat/Mirror Module (MSMM). Operate power mirror and memory functions. Turn ignition off. Start engine and let idle for approximately one minute. Recheck for DTCs in MSMM. If LEFT MIRROR HORIZONTAL SENSOR OUT OF RANGE HIGH resets, go to next step. If LEFT MIRROR HORIZONTAL SENSOR OUT OF RANGE HIGH does not reset, conditions necessary to set this DTC are not present at this time. Check for intermittent poor connections or faulty circuits and repair as necessary. See MEMORY SYSTEMS in appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in ELECTRICAL.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect left power mirror connector. To access connector, power mirror will need to be removed. See POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in POWER MIRRORS article. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and left power mirror connector terminal No. 4 (Tan/Violet wire). See Figure. If voltage is not 4.5-5.5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 4.5-5.5 volts, replace left power mirror.
  3. Locate and disconnect MSMM connectors. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . Measure resistance between ground and left power mirror connector terminal No. 4 (Tan/Violet wire). If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, repair short to ground in circuit between left power mirror connector terminal No. 4 (Tan/Violet wire) and MSMM connector C2 terminal No. 20 (Tan/Yellow wire). See Figure and Figure . If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, replace MSMM. See MEMORY SEAT/MIRROR MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
