Right Mirror Horizontal Sensor Out Of Range High
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform MEMORY SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Using scan tool, erase DTCs from Memory Seat/Mirror Module (MSMM). Operate power mirror and memory functions. Turn ignition off. Start engine and let idle for approximately one minute. Recheck for DTCs in MSMM. If RIGHT MIRROR HORIZONTAL SENSOR OUT OF RANGE HIGH resets, go to next step. If RIGHT MIRROR HORIZONTAL SENSOR OUT OF RANGE HIGH does not reset, conditions necessary to set this DTC are not present at this time. Check for intermittent poor connections or faulty circuits and repair as necessary. See MEMORY SYSTEMS in appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in ELECTRICAL.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect right power mirror connector. To access connector, power mirror will need to be removed. See POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in POWER MIRRORS article. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and right power mirror connector terminal No. 4 (Tan/Yellow wire). See Figure. If voltage is 4.5-5.5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not 4.5-5.5 volts, go to step 5.
- Turn ignition off. Measure resistance between ground and right power mirror connector terminal No. 5 (Tan/White wire). If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace right power mirror.
- Locate and disconnect MSMM connectors. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . Measure resistance of circuit between right power mirror connector terminal No. 5 (Tan/White wire) and MSMM connector C2 terminal No. 14 (White wire). See Figure and Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace MSMM. See MEMORY SEAT/MIRROR MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Tan/White or White wire.
- Turn ignition off. Locate and disconnect MSMM connectors. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . Turn ignition off. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and right power mirror connector terminal No. 4 (Tan/Yellow wire). If voltage is not present, go to next step. If any voltage is present, repair short to voltage in circuit between right power mirror connector terminal No. 4 (Tan/Yellow wire) and MSM connector C2 terminal No. 19 (Yellow wire). See Figure and Figure .
- Using DVOM, measure resistance between right power mirror connector terminal No. 4 (Tan/Yellow wire) and MSM connector C2 terminal No. 19 (Yellow wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace MSMM. See MEMORY SEAT/MIRROR MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Tan/Yellow or Yellow wire.
