RKE Program Line Output Short
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, record and erase DTCs. Monitor DTCs on scan tool. Select PROGRAM RKE on scan tool. If RKE PROGRAM LINE OUTPUT SHORT resets, go to next step. If RKE PROGRAM LINE OUTPUT SHORT does not reset, system is operating properly at this time. Check for intermittent poor connections or faulty circuits.
- Locate and disconnect Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module connector. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . Using scan tool, erase DTCs. Turn ignition off and back on. Monitor DTCs on scan tool. Wait approximately 30 seconds. If RKE PROGRAM LINE OUTPUT OPEN sets, go to next step. If RKE PROGRAM LINE OUTPUT OPEN does not set, replace RKE module. - Locate and disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector C4. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . See Figure. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and BCM connector C4 terminal No. 4 (White/Gray wire). If any voltage is present, repair short to voltage in White/Gray wire. If no voltage is present, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
