Overhead Liftgate Switch Input Stuck

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Using scan tool, erase DTCs. Turn ignition off. Wait approximately 10 seconds. Turn ignition on. Operate liftgate from overhead console switch. Recheck for DTCs. If OVERHEAD LIFTGATE SWITCH INPUT STUCK resets, go to next step. If OVERHEAD LIFTGATE SWITCH INPUT STUCK does not reset, system is operating properly at this time. Check for intermittent poor connections or faulty circuits.
  2. Using scan tool, erase DTCs. Disconnect overhead console switch. Overhead console will need to be removed to access switch connector. See OVERHEAD CONSOLE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Turn ignition off. Wait approximately 10 seconds. Turn ignition on. Recheck for DTCs. If OVERHEAD LIFTGATE SWITCH INPUT STUCK resets, go to next step. If OVERHEAD LIFTGATE SWITCH INPUT STUCK does not reset, replace overhead console switch assembly.
  3. Locate and disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector C2. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . See Figure. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and BCM connector C2 terminal No. 6 (Violet/Tan wire). If resistance is 4000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Violet/Tan wire between BCM and overhead console connector terminal No. 2. See Figure. If resistance is greater than 4000 ohms, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
