Overhead Left Switch Input Stuck
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, record and erase DTCs. Turn ignition off. Wait approximately 10 seconds. Turn ignition on. Operate power sliding door from left overhead switch. Recheck for DTCs. If OVERHEAD LEFT SWITCH INPUT STUCK resets, go to next step. If OVERHEAD LEFT SWITCH INPUT STUCK does not reset, system is operating properly at this time. Check for intermittent poor connections or faulty circuits.
- Carefully remove and disconnect overhead switch connector. Using scan tool, erase DTCs. Turn ignition off. Wait approximately 10 seconds. Turn ignition on. Wait approximately 10 more seconds. Recheck for DTCs. If OVERHEAD LEFT SWITCH INPUT OPEN does not set, go to next step. If OVERHEAD LEFT SWITCH INPUT OPEN sets, replace overhead switch.
- Locate and disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector C3. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . See Figure. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and BCM connector C3 terminal No. 1 (Violet/Dark Blue wire). If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Violet/Dark Blue wire. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
