Powertrain Verification Test

NOTE: If Powertrain Control Module (PCM) was replaced, new PCM must be programmed to prevent DTCs from being set in Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module, Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) and Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) if equipped. See PROGRAMMING . If vehicle is equipped with SKIM, secret key data must be updated also.
  1. Remove all test equipment and jumper wires. Ensure all engine components are properly installed. Reconnect any disconnected components. Check engine oil for fuel contamination. Change engine oil and filter if necessary.
  2. Attempt to start engine. If engine will not start, go to appropriate TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Check for related Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs).
  3. If engine starts, run engine until operating temperature is reached. Using scan tool, verify that additional DTCs do not set and all systems are operating properly. If DTCs set, go to appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE to diagnose DTCs. If DTCs do not set and all systems are operating properly, repair is complete.
