SYSTEM COVERAGE
These diagnostic procedures cover all 2002 LH and 300M vehicles equipped with a 42LE transaxle.

SIX-STEP TO TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE
Diagnosis of the 42LE Electronic transaxle is done in six basic steps:
- verification of complaint
- verification of any related symptoms
- symptom analysis
- problem isolation
- repair of isolated problem
- verification of proper operation

IDENTIFICATION OF SYSTEM
All LH and 300M vehicles are equipped with a 4 speed transmission. The Solenoid/Pressure switch is located on the right side of the transmission case, The Transmission Range Sensor, Input speed sensor and Output speed sensor are located on the left or same side of the transmission case. Refer to the Service Information for transmission ID tag descriptions.
