Starter Motor: Installation

Install starter and shield to vehicle (Fig 1).

Start the lower starter bolt (Figure).
Connect the solenoid connector to starter.
Connect the positive battery cable to starter
Relocate the front mount and bracket.
NOTE: The front mount has an alignment pin (Fig 2), make sure that the mount and bracket line up together. The alignment pin goes toward the front of vehicle.

NOTE: Make sure that the wire harness is in front of the front mount.
Start the middle starter bolt
Install the lower bracket bolt to engine block (Figure).
Install the lower bracket bolt to transmission.
Tighten both lower bracket bolts.
Lower engine (Figure).
Install the lower front mount nut and tighten (Figure).
install and tighten the middle starter bolt (Figure).
Install and tighten the upper starter mounting bolt (Figure).
Lower vehicle.
Install the upper nut to the front mount and tighten (Figure).
Install the coolant line clamp bolt (Figure).
Install the wiring harness clip to front mount.
Install the radiator fan module (Figure), (Refer to RADIATOR FAN ).
Relocate and install (Figure) and (Figure) the upper radiator crossmember, (Refer to RADIATOR CROSSMEMBER ).
Connect the negative battery cable.
