Description - Charging System

The charging system consists of:

1. Generator
2. Decoupler Pulley (If equipped)
3. Electronic Voltage Regulator (EVR) circuitry within the Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
4. Ignition switch (refer to the IGNITION SYSTEM - SERVICE INFORMATION for information)
5. Battery (refer to the BATTERY SYSTEM for information)
6. Ambient Air Temperature (If equipped)
7. Inlet Air Temperature (calculated battery temperature) (If equipped)
8. Voltmeter (refer to the INSTRUMENT CLUSTER - SERVICE INFORMATION for information if equipped)
9. Wiring harness and connections (refer to the appropriate Wiring information in ELECTRICAL for information)
10. Accessory drive belt (refer to the COOLING for more information)
11. Battery Temperature sensor (if equipped)
