Fuel Injector: Removal

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the engine cover. (Refer to ENGINE/AIR INTAKE SYSTEM/AIR CLEANER HOUSING - REMOVAL) or (Refer to ENGINE/AIR INTAKE SYSTEM/AIR CLEANER HOUSING - REMOVAL) SRT.
- Remove the wiring harness cover retaining screw, and then remove the wiring harness cover (1).
- Release the fuel pressure through the fuel rail service valve (7) using a fuel pressure tester. Collect the fuel in a suitable container.
- Disconnect the fuel feed line (3).
- Remove the fuel injector wire harness connector retaining clips and then disconnect the fuel injector harness (6) from the fuel injectors (4).
- Remove the fuel rail retaining bolts (8).
- Remove the fuel rail (2) with the fuel injectors (4) by moving the fuel rail (2) side to side while lifting upward.
- Remove the fuel injector retaining clips and the fuel injectors (4) from the fuel rail (2).
