Junction Block: Operation
All of the current entering and leaving the JB does so through wire harnesses, which are connected to the JB through integral connector receptacles molded into the JB housing. The JB houses blade-type fuses, blade-type automatic resetting circuit breakers, full International Standards Organization (ISO) mini relays and ISO micro-relays. Internal connection of all the JB circuits is accomplished by an intricate network of bus bars. Refer to the appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article. The wiring information includes wiring diagrams, proper wire and connector repair procedures, details of wire harness routing and retention, connector pin-out information and location views for the various wire harness connectors, splices and grounds.
The fuses, circuit breakers and relays are available for service replacement. The JB unit cannot be repaired and is only serviced as an assembly. If any internal circuit or the JB housing is faulty or damaged, the entire Junction Block assembly must be replaced.
