Ignition Coil: Removal: 2.7L

- Prior to removing the ignition coils, spray compressed air around the coil area and spark plug. See Fig 1.
- Remove the air cleaner box. For 2.4L, (Refer to ENGINE/AIR INTAKE SYSTEM/AIR CLEANER HOUSING - REMOVAL)
. For 2.7L, (Refer to ENGINE/AIR INTAKE SYSTEM/AIR CLEANER HOUSING - REMOVAL)

- Put floor jack under engine for support.
- Loosen the transmission mount, do not remove bolts. See Fig 2.

- Lower engine and transmission. See Fig 3.

- Remove 1 fastener from each ignition coil assembly, driver, center and passenger side coils. See Fig 4.

- Disconnect the electrical connector from the passenger and driver side coils.
- The center ignition coils will have to be rotated to remove the electrical connector. See Fig 5.

- Twist driver side coil assembly. See Fig 6.

- Pull up and toward rear of vehicle. See Fig 7.

- Tip center coil assembly toward driver side of vehicle and remove from vehicle. See Fig 10.
