Fuel Tank: Notes

Fuel tanks pass a full 360 degree roll over test without fuel leakage. To accomplish this, fuel and vapor flow controls are required for all fuel tank connections.

The fuel tank is equipped with two permanent vent valves, mounted diagonally to the top of the fuel tank. This allows the fuel tank to vent properly regardless of driving angle or when refueling.

A fuel tank vent filter is connected inline to the fuel fill valve, and vapor valve, to reduce emissions of fuel vapors into the atmosphere, when the tank is being filled or venting due to thermal expansion. This filter also prevents contaminants from entering the fuel system through the vapor valves.
