Sensor, Knock: Installation: 2.4L

The knock sensor bolts into the side of the cylinder block in front of the starter under the intake manifold.

  1. Connect the electrical connector to the knock sensor.
  2. Install the knock sensor and tighten the knock sensor bolt to 22 N.m (195 in. lbs.). Over or under tightening effects knock sensor performance, possibly causing improper spark control. 
  3. Install the negative battery cable and tighten nut to 5 N.m (45 in. lbs.).
