Power Outlet
REMOVAL
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Look inside of the 12V receptacle and note position of the retaining bosses.
1 - Receptacle 2 - Retaining Bosses - Insert Remover, Power Outlet (special tool #10246A, Remover, Power Outlet) into the retaining bosses of the power outlet.
1 - Tool 2 - Base 3 - Retaining Bosses - Pull the base out through the mounting ring by gently rocking the tool.
- Disconnect the wire harness electrical connector from the power outlet.
1 - Wire Harness Electrical Connector 2 - Power Outlet - Set the base aside and remove the base mount ring.
INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
- Align the splines on the outside of the power outlet receptacle base connector receptacle with the grooves on the inside of the mount ring.
- Press firmly on the power outlet receptacle base until the retaining bosses of the mount ring are fully engaged in their receptacles.
