Engine Block Heater

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to BATTERY, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Remove the engine belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
3. Remove the serpentine belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
4. Remove the two upper bolts securing the generator.

5. Remove the lower bolt and position aside the generator.

6. Disconnect the power cord plug from the engine block heater.

7. Remove the bolt and the engine block heater.

INSTALLATION 

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.

• Clean the block heater sealing surface.
• Install the engine block heater and tighten the bolt to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
• Install the generator and hand tighten the lower bolt.
• Install and hand tighten the two upper generator bolt.
• Tighten the upper and lower generator bolts to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
