Electronic Fuel Control: Description

The Electronic Fuel Control system (EFC) is an electronically controlled system that closely controls air/fuel ratio and ignition timing. The Spark Control Computer (SCC) is the heart of the system. The Spark Control Computer is fed information from various different sensors to control air/fuel mixture and ignition timing. This provides the capability of igniting a lean air/fuel mixture according to different modes of engine operation. During closed loop operation, the computer maintains the air/fuel mixture close to the ideal ratio of 14.7:1.
