Airbag Control Module: Installation

  1. Slide ACM out through radio opening in instrument panel. When installing ACM, position unit with arrow on module housing pointing forward. Install three nuts securing Airbag Control Module (ACM) to mounting bracket on floor transmission tunnel. See Figure . Tighten nuts to 10.7 N.m (95 INCH lbs.).
  2. Connect wire harness connector into ACM, ensure that connector is fully-seated and locking tabs are engaged. Connect electrical and vacuum connectors. Install four screws to HVAC control head. Install two screws to radio to instrument panel. Install complete instrument panel cover bezel. Install upper and lower steering column shrouds.
  3. Install headlamp switch knob. Install five screws to right knee bolster. Install five screws to left knee bolster. Connect power window switch connectors. Install center instrument panel bezel.
WARNING: DO NOT connect battery negative cable.
