On/Off Switch: Removal
- Remove wheel center cap and six nuts to left rear wheel and tire assembly. Remove seven fasteners to inner rear splash shield. Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait two minutes for reserve capacitor to discharge. Using a paper clip or small tool, remove headlamp knob by inserting into bottom of headlamp knob. Push up with tool and gently pull rearward until lock tab releases knob. Be careful not to break locking tab.
- Remove five screws to drivers side knee blocker. Remove two screws to steering column upper and lower shrouds. Remove shrouds. Tilt steering wheel down to lowest position, using tilt lever. Using a wrench, remove tilt lever. Install tape over left and right A-pillars to pre vent damage to A-pillar surfaces. Remove five screws to passenger side knee blocker. Using a trim stick (special tool #C-4755) or equivalent, gently pry up on center instrument panel bezel.
- Disconnect cigar lighter, power window switches, and rear window defogger (if equipped) wire connectors. Remove eight screws to instrument panel bezel (fascia), and with a trim stick, gently pry rear ward. Disconnect instrument panel dimmer and ON/OFF switch wire connectors. Remove instrument panel bezel. With bezel on bench, turn over so rear of bezel is facing up. Remove three screws securing ON/OFF switch to instrument panel bezel and remove.
