Backlight Dimming RX Failure (Active)

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn the ignition on. With the DRBIII®, read the BCM codes. If the DRBIII displays Headlamp Switch: Mismatch; STG; Open; or Panel Dim Output Short, refer to symptoms HEADLIGHT SWITCH MISMATCH , HEADLIGHT SWITCH SHORT TO GROUND , and HEADLIGHT SWITCH OPEN  under EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Refer to symptom PANEL DIMMING OUTPUT SHORT  under INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. If the DRBIII does not display Headlamp Switch: Mismatch; STG; Open; or Panel Dim Output Short, go to the next step.
  2. Turn the ignition on. With the DRBIII® in Monitor Display, PCI Bus Messages, look for the VF DIM Msg Present. If the DRB displays: VF DIM Msg present: Yes?, replace the A/C-Heater Control Module. See A/C-HEATER CONTROL PANEL  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If the DRB does not display: VF DIM Msg present: Yes?, replace the Body Control Module. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
