Ignition Coil: Removal

  1. Release the fuel pressure, refer to the STANDARD PROCEDURE - FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE PROCEDURE in the Fuel Section.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to AIR CLEANER HOUSING for more information.
  4. Remove the Intake Manifold, refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD for more information.
  5. Unlock and disconnect the electrical connector at the ignition coils (Fig 1 and Fig 2 ).

  6. Twist and remove the ignition cables from the ignition coil.
  7. Remove the 4 bolts (Fig 3 ).

  8. Remove ignition coil.
