Sensor, Crankshaft Position: Removal

CAUTION:

Do not attempt to remove the crankshaft position sensor (CKP) when the engine is hot. The location of the CKP is near the exhaust manifold and may cause burn injuries from the extreme temperatures generated from the engine and exhaust system.

NOTE:

The sensor is located at the passenger side near the middle of the block.

  1. Remove nut (2) and heat shield (3) from stud (1).
  2. Disconnect electrical connector (4) from CKP (5).
  3. Remove sensor mounting stud (1) and CKP (5) from engine block.
