Module, Fuel Pump: Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Loosen fasteners (1, 2) and remove the cover (3).

  3. Remove bolts (1) and the fuel pump module cover (2).

  4. Disconnect the fuel pump module wire harness connector (4).
  5. Disconnect the vent line (2).
  6. Disconnect the supply line (1).
  7. Disconnect the return line (3).
  8. Position the SAE Fuel Pump Lock Ring Wrench (special tool #9340, SAE Fuel Pump Lock Ring Wrench) tool into notches on outside edge of lock ring.
  9. Install 1/2 inch drive breaker bar onto the SAE Lock Ring Wrench (special tool #9340, SAE Fuel Pump Lock Ring Wrench).
  10. Remove lock ring (8) by rotate breaker bar counter-clockwise.
  11. Remove module (9) from fuel tank and be careful not to bend float arm while removing.
