Solenoid, Variable Valve Timing: Installation: Right

  1. Install the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) solenoid seals (1). The seals can be reused if not damaged.

  2. Refer to the markings made at disassembly and install the intake VVT solenoid (2) and the exhaust VVT solenoid (4) in their original locations.
  3. Install and securely tighten the VVT solenoid mounting bolts (3).
  4. Connect the wiring harness connector (1) to the VVT solenoid (2, 4).

  5. Install the right engine mount (2) and tighten the bolts (1) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Remove the floor jack.
  7. Install the air cleaner resonator. Refer to RESONATOR, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION .
  8. Install the cooling fan. Refer to FAN, COOLING, INSTALLATION .
  9. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
NOTE:

The Cam/Crank Variation Relearn procedure must be performed using the scan tool anytime there has been a repair/replacement made to a powertrain system, for example: flywheel, valvetrain, camshaft and/or crankshaft sensors or components.
