Solenoid, Variable Valve Timing: Installation: Right
- Install the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) solenoid seals (1). The seals can be reused if not damaged.
- Refer to the markings made at disassembly and install the intake VVT solenoid (2) and the exhaust VVT solenoid (4) in their original locations.
- Install and securely tighten the VVT solenoid mounting bolts (3).
- Connect the wiring harness connector (1) to the VVT solenoid (2, 4).
- Install the right engine mount (2) and tighten the bolts (1) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Remove the floor jack.
- Install the air cleaner resonator. Refer to RESONATOR, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION .
- Install the cooling fan. Refer to FAN, COOLING, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
NOTE:
The Cam/Crank Variation Relearn procedure must be performed using the scan tool anytime there has been a repair/replacement made to a powertrain system, for example: flywheel, valvetrain, camshaft and/or crankshaft sensors or components.
