Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Description

PURPOSE
During engine warm-up with coolant temperature below 150° F, the electrical impedance of the temperature sensor is high. The result is the ECM does not accept the oxygen sensor voltage output and a fixed air/fuel mixture is maintained (Open Loop Mode of Operation).
