Starter Motor: Service and Repair

If shims are used to position starter motor, note location of shims, as shims must be reinstalled in the same locations during starter installation.

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove starter motor to engine brace. On Eagle models it may be necessary to remove an additional brace to remove starter motor.
2. Remove two starter motor to engine attaching bolts, then lower starter motor and disconnect wiring from solenoid.
3. Remove starter motor from vehicle.
4. Reverse procedure to install. Reinstall any shims that were removed.
