Coolant Temperature Sensor (Cts)

The coolant temperature sensor is located in front of the cylinder head in thermostat housing. This sensor allows the ECU to determine engine temperature. During cold engine operation, the ECU will richen the air/fuel mixture, compensate for fuel condensation in the intake manifold, control engine warm-up speed, increase ignition advance, and inhibit operation of the EGR system.
