Electronic Control Unit (Ecu): Notes
The ECU calculates ignition timing and operates the ignition power module. Ignition timing is modified by the ECU to meet engine operating conditions. The manifold pressure, engine speed, manifold air temperature, engine coolant temperature and spark knock is used by the ECU when calculating the correct ignition timing. The ECU automatically adjusts for altitude changes. The ECU is located under the instrument panel on the passenger side of the vehicle. See Fig 1 .
