Manifold Air/Fuel (Mat) Temperature Sensor

The manifold air/fuel temperature sensor is located in the throttle body adapter below the throttle body and behind the fitting for the brake vacuum booster. This sensor provides a voltage signal to the ECU representing the temperature of the air/fuel mixture in the intake manifold. The ECU compensates for air density changes during high temperature operation.
