Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor
- Inspect vacuum hoses at sensor and throttle body, repair if necessary. Turn ignition switch to "ON" position but do not start engine. Using DVOM, check MAP output voltage at terminal "B" (marked on sensor body). Output voltage should be 4-5 volts. If okay, check ECU terminal "C6" for the same voltage. Repair sensor wire harness if necessary.
- Test sensor terminal "C" for a supply voltage of 4.5 to 5.5 volts. If okay, check sensor wire connector from ECU terminal "C14" for same reading. Repair sensor wire harness if necessary.
- If voltage is not as specified with engine not running, replace sensor. If okay, start engine and bring to operating temperature. With engine at idle, check output voltage as in step 1). Reading should be between 1.5-2.1 volts. If not, replace sensor.
- Using ohmmeter, test for proper ground at sensor connector terminal "A" and at ECU terminal "D3". Repair as necessary.
