A/C Clutch Relay

With ignition switch in "RUN" position, leave A/C clutch relay connected. Connect a voltmeter between, relay terminal No. 86 and ground. See Figure . Voltmeter should read battery voltage. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check fuse No. 8. If fuse No. 8 is okay, check for an open circuit to fuse No. 8.

2) Connect voltmeter between relay terminal No. 30 and ground. See Figure . Voltmeter should read battery voltage. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check fusible link in circuit. If fusible link is okay, check for an open circuit to fusible link.

3) Connect voltmeter between relay terminals No. 86 and 85. See Figure . Voltmeter should read battery voltage. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check for an open circuit to Air Control Module (ACM) connecter terminal "C5". If circuit is okay, replace Air Control Module (ACM).

4) Connect voltmeter between relay terminals No. 30 and 87. See Figure . A/C compressor clutch should engage. If A/C compressor clutch engages, replace A/C clutch relay.
