ISA/ISC Motor

  1. Disconnect motor connector. Connect Idle Motor Tester (7088) to ISA/ISC motor. For proper connection, it will be necessary to modify Idle Motor Tester (7088). Cut a groove in terminal "A" the same size and shape as grooves in terminals "B" and "D".
  2. Connect Idle Motor Tester (7088) to vehicle battery. Start engine. Put Idle Motor Tester's switch in "RETRACT" position. ISA/ISC motor should retract and engine idle speed should decrease. If ISA/ISC motor retracts and engine speed decreases, go to next step. If ISC motor does not retract, replace ISA/ISC motor.
  3. Put idle motor tester's switch in "EXTEND" position. ISA/ISC motor should extend and engine speed should increase. If motor does not extend, replace motor. If motor responds correctly, motor is functioning properly.
